A boat parade in the winter time is a definate sign that you are in Southern California where our waters do not freeze over. For 99 years the city has been hosting a Christmas boat parade. The boats are decorated with lights, some even have a personal visit from Santa.

As I was reading the newspaper today I saw an add for pet financing through Wells Fargo Bank. That is right if you cannot afford your pet they will happily loan you the money for it.

In the spirit of Christmas the Back Bay will be lit up for the holidays. At 6 p.m. Friday eve the flip will be switched lighting up 50 Christmas trees. Â
To ensure that everyone gets into the holiday spirit 20 tons of snow will be delivered for children of all ages to go sledding on.

Pastry Chef Michael Owens will be creating a 6 foot edible gingerbread house. No he is not trying to make the largest gingerbread house. It is part of a fundraiser for Toys for Tots drive at the Island Hotel at 690 Newport Center Drive.
Donations will be accepted along with unwrapped toys. Donations will be accepted until December 13. The house will be on display until the end of the year. ...

If last weekend's weather was any indication, hopefully this Friday night will be frosty and cool for the Fashion Island tree lighting ceremony.  Put on your scarves and head to Fashion Island at 6 p.m. Afterwards head over to Starbucks and enjoy some hot chocolate to stay warm with.

Zinc Cafe is a wonderful vegetarian cafe. I am not a vegetarian by choice. I love my protein and enjoy getting it from meat.
