Christopher Michael Chocolates

Chef Christopher Michael is selling homemade chocolate from his Newport Beach store. This is a one of a kind store here in Orange County. Sure we have See's and Godiva, but what sets his chocolates apart is that they are homemade. All the chocolates use fresh ingredients. In France you can find chocolate shops lining each street. Just think Chocolat. This concept is ...

Newport Beach Library Summer Reading Program

Mark you calendars for June 21st-summer solistice-yes and the beginning of the summer reading program at the library. Corona del Mar 5K

June 7th marks the annual Corona del Mar 5k run. This is one of my favorite runs to do for a variety of reasons. The race course itself is a great run. You start and finish by the ocean. It is hard to lose your motivation on a run when you are surrounded by other runners. However if you find your attention wavering and your legs ...

High Priced Offending Gas Station

Gas prices are definitely out of control. The large gas companies are greedy-plain and simple. While Americans are being made to suffer at the pump and everywhere else, as the price of gas is being blamed on the cost of transporting food and other items, gas companies are posting record profits. The station at the corner of 17th Street and Irvine Blvd. in Newport Beach is charging ...

Easter Bunny is in Town

I am not quite sure where the Easter Bunny lives.  Is he in the North Pole with Santa or does he prefer the heat of the Caribbean.  The bunny has never really told us where he lives when he is not out delivering Easter baskets.  However given all the inclemental weather we have had the bunny has managed to hop on over to Fashion island.  He will be soaking up ...

Stan Chambers

Last week I heard Stan Chambers speak at the Newport Beach Public Library.  For those who do not know who he is, he has been a reporter with KTLA for the past 60 years.  Yes 60 years.  Which to me is absolutly amazing that someone would stay at the same organization for 60 years.  Mr. Cambaers is from a different generation.

He returned to Southern California after World War 11 and ...
