Balboa Ferry

If you are looking for something different to do, go visit Balboa Island and ride the ferry.  The ferry runs year round shuttling cars and passengers across the harbor from the island to the pennisula.

The ride across the ferry takes about 7 minutes.  During the winter months there are two ferries, while in the summer time three ferries shuttle back and forth across the harbor.

The ferry service was started in 1919 by Joseph Beek and is still run by the family.  Traversing across the harbor takes you less than 1,000 feet.  The cost for adults is $1.00, vehicles are $2.00 and children are .50 cents.
