Everyone knows the story of the Mayflower.  Or at least we think we know the Mayflower's story, it is the story of the ship that the Pilgrims arrived on.   The Pilgrims arriving on Plymouth rock is just the beginning of the Mayflower's story.

Nathaniel Philbrick (author of In the Heart of the Sea) has written a wonderful story about the Mayflower and it's passengers.  In the Heart of the Sea is an amazing story about a whaling vessel and it's men that was sunk at sea after being attacked by a whale.

On October 16th at 6:30 p.m. the Central branch of the Newport Beach Library will have it's first book club meeting.  As you guessed the book will be the Mayflower.

I am just commencing to read it, however if In the Heart of the Sea is any indiction it will be a thrilling novel that will be difficult to put down.
