Ruby's at the Pier



Ruby's Diner at the Newport Pier is always fun for a burger and a shake.  Nothing tastes better than a cold refreshing shake in the summertime and Ruby's is the place to visit.  At the end of the Pier, the diner overlooks the Pacific Ocean.  Sit and enjoy a burger while watching the fishermen catching their dinner and seagulls hovering about trying to snag a meal.

Remember the movie Top Gun



I am sure that we all the remember the movie Top Gun and the infamous scence with Tom Cruise when Berlin plays "Take my Breath Away."  As part of the summer concert series at Fashion Island Berlin will be performing August 2nd at 7pm. 

It is sure to be packed so arrive early for a good seat.

Come Watch the Surf at the Surf



Quicksilver will have a free screening of Black and White featuring surfer Kelly Slater at 8 p.m. at the park next to Balboa Pier in Newport Beach.  The movie was shot in Souther California, Hawaii, Fiji and France. 

If you have never been to movie night they are loads of fun.  Bring your beach chair and snacks and enjoy a movie under the sky.

Cinema Orange-The Orange Thief



The Orange County Museum of Art is sponsoring an eclectic slate of movies from the Newport Beach Film Festival.  July 26th movies is the Orange Thief, a story of a young man who steals oranges for money and the sheer exicitement of courting with danger until he lands himself in a Sicilian jail.  Should be interesting.

Hey Hey it's the Monkees



Fashion Island is kicking off it's summer concert series with Micky Dolenz of the Monkees.  As I child I loved watching the Monkees on television.  It will be interesting to see if it is still the same.
