Mondays Always Get Me Down
When I fly to another city for a long weekend, chances are I’ll stay until Tuesday. It’s always cheaper to fly out on Tuesday. The problem with being cheap is that I usually end up bored, and I am left on Monday wondering what to do on the last night of my mini-vacation.
If you are in Los Angeles, wonder no further. Pull yourself away from the television set and make your way to Hollywood for the Monday Night Social. That’s right, here in Los Angeles you can be social even on a Monday night.
After you have visited all L.A.’s mega clubs over the weekend, come unwind and get down at this social event. This club is located at NACIONAL, 1645 Wilcox Avenue. The venue is smaller giving it a bar vibe, more than a club vibe. The Social always packs up to just the right capacity. And by right capacity, I mean you have room to dance, and you can get a drink without waiting at the bar until you sober up again. Upstairs offers a smoking patio overlooking the dance floor. There are also areas upstairs to sit and talk, yes talk, without screaming. This small club offers all the amenities of a mega club in an intimate atmosphere. The only thing missing is pretension.
Promoters Freddy B and Mick Cole have been putting on this club in various locations since 1996. They offer everything from L.A.’s hottest local DJs to some of the world’s best. They are dedicated promoters putting on this club because they love the music and the scene. This club is so intimate and personal, sometimes I swear they put the club on because they love me. And I bet when you go, you’ll swear it’s because they love you.
