Los Angeles Lectures-UCLA

Now what am I up to?  Well, there's nothing like attending a world-class lecture at a world-class University.  How about this!  "Pure and Applied Mathematics Institute Public Lecture". Monday, April 16th, 2007, La Kretz Hall Room 110, 4- 6pm-UCLA: Benoit Mandelbrot will give a lecture on ‘The Nature of Roughess'.  What!  DON'T LAUGH!   These are extraordinary events, and Professor Mandelbrot is world famous for his work on fractal geometry. The professor is also considered one of the top ten most influential scientists of our time.

Here's what you get out of it.  It's an opportunity to experience the synergy of one of the brightest minds in the world.   When I attend these types of lectures, I'm always fascinated by how thinking souls move, talk, think, speak, stand, and delve into the secrets of the universe.  It can play on your psyche in ways you can't imagine.  And just think; there will come a time when you bring this lecture up in a conversation.  No matter what the venue-immediate respect is given.  Don't miss it.  Call today for further information at 310-794-0069.

I appreciate your intellect! I was attracted to your subject because last week I was in New Orleans for three days for a job interview and just serendipitously learned that Toni Morrison was on Tulane's campus for a talk. I went even though I thought it was going to cost me $10. It was free, though, and that made me enjoy it all the more. I am looking to move to New Orleans this summer or fall, hoping to take advantage of all the events at Tulane and Loyola.
