What to do in Santa Monica
No trip to Santa Monica would be complete without a walk down the Promenade, that's three blocks of uninterrupted shopping and entertainment.
The pedestrian zone is just two blocks back from the beach and runs between Broadway and Santa Monica Boulevard.
The streets are lined with singers and performers who'll accompany your stroll around the shops or trip to the cinema.
There's also great places to eat, including the Broadway Deli - a particular favorite of this blogger for breakfast or brunch.
The city provides plenty of parking structures which are FREE yes FREE for the first two hours and then cheap for each hour thereafter. The flat rate after 6pm is $3. Just follow the yellow street and blue signs for "Parking".
From there you are also a short walk to Santa Monica pier and the beach.
