FOSTER CITY---A PLACE TO STAY
In Foster City, close to Highway 92, is the Crown Plaza Hotel, which is one of the major hotels in the area.
People staying in the hotel can visit many places in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern Californai: they can take trips to the Sierra Navada Mountains; they can go to the coast of the Pacific Ocean; they can go to San Francisco; they can go north to the California wine country; and they can go south to the Monterey-Carmel area--all in one or two day tours.
Within walking distance, you can walk to different restaurants of your choice to eat: such as, El Torito, a Mexican Restaurant and bar; Harry's Hofbrau, buffet style carvery; Black Angras, steak and seafood restaurant and bar; Hokkaido, oriento seafood buffet; Red Robin, gourmet hamburger restaurant and bar; Mi Mi's, cafe shop continental cuisine; and many other places in the Bridgepointe Shopping Center.
When entering the hotel's lobby, you smell fresh water: there is a waterfall, as you walk in, on the left of the desk where you register, and the mist from the waterfall gives you the smell of frsh water. Opposite the waterfall, there is a buffet, a bar, and the hotel's swimming pool all located on the main floor of the hotel.
The hotel's sports bar is behind the buffet. Here is where you can watch several sports activities at one time on three to four very large T.V. screens. Food and drink are sold here, and if you feel like your up to it you can play pool. In front of the large T.V. screens, a dance floor has been set up, so you can watch the T.V. and dance at the same time.
The food when we ate at this sports bar was good. My wife and I had hamburgers, which were good, but the side dish could stand some improvement. I had potato-salad ---the last time we ate here it was very good---, which was dry and a strong peper taste. The frys were slightly cold and seemed some what tough, I thought, but my wife liked them. When we left, we told the manager about the potatto-salad, and he said that he will take care of it.
The rooms seemed to be nice and clean. They are quiet, the shower was strong and easy to adjust, they had WiFi, the T.V. was easy to figure out, and when you closed the drapes the room got dark. These little items might not be anything to rave about, but when you come in from a tour and you are really tired and want to rest--- the shower, the T.V., and darkness of the room is what you are looking for, or what I would be looking for.
Foster City is just far enough away from the big city(San Francisco), so that you can enjoy quietness and be close enough to visit the popular attraction of the city and San Francisco Bay Area. So to enjoy the quietness of the area, in my opinion, the Crown Plaza Hotel would be one of the better places to stay, while visiting the San Francissco Bay Area.
