Take a Hike!
From Davis, it's a short drive out to Lake Berryessa. Once at the Lake, there are a number of places to get out and play. One of these places is Cold Canyon. About a half a mile past the dam is an unmarked parking lot. Opposite the parking lot is a trailhead for several trails that can offer beautiful wildflowers, salamanders, birds, and more depending on the time of year. If you hike up far enough, you can reach the old homestead for the property, and see what is left of the foundation. It is perfect for a picnic lunch, just be sure to bring the insect repellent. Regardless of which trail you take, it is always a beautiful hike with gorgeous views.
