Delicious Pho
With the rain and cold, nothing warms you up like a bowl of soup. Those are the days to stop by Pho Bac Hoa Viet near 1st and B Streets (305 First St) and get a bowl of their pho or noodles. The place isn't swanky, but what it is missing in ambience, it makes up with fresh basil and leafy greens. The soup is light but filling although none of the pho is vegetarian (it's a meat broth). Other dishes can be made vegetarian, and the staff will substitute tofu for meat in any of the dishes. Most of the dishes are pretty affordable, usually around $5 or $6, so it makes for a good lunch after the holidays.
