Year of the Bad Behavior

If you are a young star and nothing much is happening in your life except for partying this was the year to be arrested for a DUI.  Lohan, Hilton and Richie can all lay claim to fame to this walk of shame.  It seems that Mischa Barton was feeling left out and needed her name in the headlines before the year ended for a DUI arrest.

Congratulations Barton.  Arrested for driving ...

Lukewarm Shopping at South Coast Plaza

While the weather outside maybe breezy and cold the sales at the mall are lukewarm at best.  A quick trip to the mall confirmed this.  There was plenty of parking and the shops were not crowded.

Store owners at are quite disappointed by the action at the cash register. Traditionally the day after Christmas is a busy day with lines and plenty of rings at the cash register.  But this year is ...

Hannah Montana Fans Suing

The Miley Cyrus (Hannah  Montana) fan club is suing the singer because their fan club membership did not get them the privilege they expected.  Fans thought they would be able to get priority access to concert tickets.  Not so.

Last week, Hannah had two sold out concerts in the Southern California area.  Fans complained that there are more members in the club than tickets that were available. Club membership is $29.95. The ...

Hard to Believe, Christmas Tree has Arrived

South Coast Plaza had its Christmas tree delivered yesterday.  All 96 feet of it.  I am not sure what the mall will be doing with a Christmas tree for the next month.  The tree lighting ceremony will occur on November 26th.

Who knows, maybe the tree will be trick or treating.  What happened to Haloween and Thanksgiving?  Do we not get a chance to celebrate those holidays first, before launching into ...

24 Hour Doctor Room Service

Here is a service that hopefully you will not need to use.  Old fashioned doctors that make house (or shall we say hotel) calls.  Everyone who travels extensively has found themselves needing a doctor at some time.

When you are in a strange city and not feeling well the last thing you want to do is drive around looking for an urgent care facility and then sit in a waiting room ...

New Skateboard Park for Costa Mesa

Given the success of Volcom skate park in Tewinkle park, Costa Mesa is considering opening a second skateboard park for the city.

The only location under consideration is Lions Park. The suggestion is to include space for BMX bikes which are not permitted at Volcom park.

Not everyone is happy about the skateboard park.  For those of you who want the park be prepared to show the city your support.  A community ...

Great News!!! No Sex Offenders Currently Residing at Local Motel

The Daily Pilot is our local newspaper that runs articles about the Newport-Mesa area.  Like all newspapers, not every article is newsworthy or even worth reading.  In the April 28th edition there is an article titled, Our 14 Wonders, and it goes on to list the 14 Wonders of the area.  I am not sure if I agree with these wonders but that is for another time.

One the area's wonders according ...
