Costa Mesa Wasting Tax Payer Dollars

The city of Costa Mesa must have access to unlimited funds. The city is appealing a case that was initially rejected for filing by the District Attorney's Office and then dismissed by the court when the city prosecutor presented the case. Benito Acosta was ejected from a city council meeting for supposedly being disruptive.
What is the city's issue with this individual that they want him prosecuted so ...

It seems that the economy is affecting everyone and the Daily Pilot is no exception. For those that are not familiar with the paper-it is the local paper for Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. The paper is great as it promotes local businesses and let's readers know what is happening in their city.

$4.45 for Premium Gas!!!!!

A few weeks ago the headlines read gas approaching $4.00. I could still find gas for around $3.89 if I was crafty in when are where I filled up-then it jumped to over $4.00 but there was still a gas station at #3.99. Now it is at $4.45-what happens when the price of crude dips-why do we not see a reduction at the tank. Because the gas ...

Gas for under Four Dollars

It is a really sad day when I get excited about gas being just under four dollars. However I was driving around for work today and found at under $4.00. Needless to say I filled up my tank. The station was Chevron on Beach Blvd. at Lampson in Stanton. Regular gas was $3.75.

Grab a Bag or Basket and Go Shopping

I was in San Francisco this past weekend and the one thing that struck me the most when I was at the markets-were the lack of plastic shopping bags. San Fran has passed an ordinance restricting plastic bags in grocery stores. Everyone shops with a canvas or cloth bag or a basket.
Earth Day was just last week and it is a great idea. Why load up on ...

Cost of everything going up.

I have just finished reading the morning edition of the Los Angeles Times Business section and the news is rather dismal. Rice around the world is in short supply. There have been riots in Egypt and Haiti due to a lack of rice. In the US, Sam's Club and Costco have been limiting the number of bags customers can buy. This is really rather shameful as ...

Gas Prices up again

You really do not need me to be telling you that gas prices are up once again. If you have not realized this you either do not drive or do not pay attention to how much money you spend. Yes they are up 50 cents from a year ago. My car has a 12 gallon tank and I was abhorred that filling up at the tank ...

Do not Ask Me

I have no explantion for the recent rise again of gas prices in Southern California.  Gas prices are up 7.7 cents from last week.  The only explanation AAA has is that in the summer time the gas has an additive that supposedly makes gas cleaner that is not used in the winter.  WHO KNOWS.  Interestingly enough none of the candidates have addressed the cost of gas in any of the speeches.

Here ...

Hurley is Putting up Reward

For those that live in Southern California, you have probably come to know the story of Dane Williams.  He was a young man who worked for Hurley Sports.  Williams went to San Diego as part of a convention hosted by Hurley.  He was last seen by his co-workers at a bar and then found dead in an alleyway.

An autopsy has proven inconclusive regarding his death.  I never had the oppurtunity ...

Orange County Gas Prices Hit Record High

According the AAA of Southern California the average price of gas is $3.54 in Orange County up .54 cents from a month ago.  I am not sure where AAA is purchasing their gas from the cheapest I have seen gas is still probabaly a nickle higher.  What is astonishing to me is the our learned President is unaware that gas prices are so high.  The man is from the state ...
