Say Cheese at the Orange County Fair



The OC Fair has opened today with BB King kicking off with a performance tonight. The theme of this years fair is Say Cheese. The fair will run until August 3rd. and is open noon to midnight Tuesday through Sunday. Admission to the fair is $9.00 for adults and $5 for children 6 thru 12.

The Salmonella scare is still on. The expression Rotten Tomato has taken on a whole new definition. So far they are saying you can eat tomatos off the vine It is rather unfortunate as this is tomato season and the tomatos and red and plump.

Laguna Beach Book Store



For those who ever visited the Pottery Shack in Laguna Beach, you would remember it with fond memories.  It was a great ecletic place to get Christmas decorations and pottery for the home.  The store shut down a few years ago.  However the ambience and environment of the Shack is still well and alive.  The premises is now a collection of interesting stores.

Tet Celebrations



Tet, the most important holiday in Vietnam, marking the New Year, is this Thursday Febraury 7th.  The Vietanmese base their holiday on the Chinese lunar calender.  In Southern California we are fortunate as Little Saigon in Westminister has one of the largest Vietanmese communities outside of Vietnam.  To celebrate Tet, Vietnamese spend the holiday with family.
