My Big Fat Greek Festival
My husband and I have been attending this festival since 2002 when it first debuted. St. John's Greek Festival is held on the church property in Anaheim. It has grown over the years from a small festival with great food cooked by the local woman to larger festival with more displays and activities each year. The food continues to be great. The parish women start gathering this week to begin their baking, backlava of all types, cookies and other delightful Greek sweets. The only thing missing is a good cup of tea. There are gyros, moussaka, stuffed grape leaves and other tasty morsels. While you enjoy your food, the Greek band is always playing. I have a friend who works at the festival, over the years she has dragged me up to the dance floor to dance and clap away to the music. I have never quite figured out the steps, however they now have lessons for neophytes like me.
