Hard to Believe, Christmas Tree has Arrived
South Coast Plaza had its Christmas tree delivered yesterday. All 96 feet of it. I am not sure what the mall will be doing with a Christmas tree for the next month. The tree lighting ceremony will occur on November 26th.
Who knows, maybe the tree will be trick or treating. What happened to Haloween and Thanksgiving? Do we not get a chance to celebrate those holidays first, before launching into the next holiday?
I love Christmas. I enjoy decorating the house and baking Christmas treats. The tradition of bringing out the ornaments and remembering the story behind them is fun. I have a friend who started giving me pieces to a Christmas village years ago. He is a bachelor and I am not sure what his home looks like at Christmas. Each year he shows up with a new decoration and enjoys his village.
Christmas baking is just as fun. There is the joy of baking old recipies and excitement in looking for new recipies to bake. My husband laughs as the kitchen is transformed into a cookie factory. There is something comforting about the scent of cinnamon in the air.
Before I pull out the tinsel and string the lights, can I enjoy another piece of pumkin pie?
