The First Page Bookstore
The First Page is usually the most important page of any book. After looking at the cover, the first page determines whether your interest in the book has been captured.
The First Page is the appropriate name for this book store. Right from the momement you walk in, you are invited to wander through the store. I will admit that I am slightly biased. I love reading and doubt that I have ever entered a book store that I do not like.
The staff here are quite friendly and knowledgeable about the books. The First Page is primarily a children's book store. Books are displayed by their grade level. In addition to books the store carries educational toys.
They have book clubs for children and storytime. Children also have the oppurtunity to meet the author. The store donates 5 percent of a book's sale to the reader's choice of school.
While not as large as the children's section, the store carries a selection of adult books. In January Ray Bradbury will be a guest at the store. Next month's book club for adults will be meeting on November 14th. The book they will be discussing is Jane Austen's Book Club.
There is also a Mother's Book Club.
Bestsellers for adults currently, are Water for Elephants, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The September of Shiraz and Eat Pray Love.
The First Page Bookstore is located at 270 E. 17th Street Suite 10 Costa Mesa
