Running with the Steers
July 27th promises to be a day of homage to Spain's running with the bulls. The theme for this summer's fair is Cowabunga. To bring the fair to life Costa Mesa will herd 300 steers through the streets of Costa Mesa and onta the fair grounds. This is a sight I will definately have to go see.
The fair is fun enough without a cattle herding, however this will definately add some excitement. Usual attractions at the fair include demolition derby, pig races, animal maternity barn, a hypnotist, rides and concerts.
The demolition derby is probably one of my favourite events. Locals buy themselves a beater car get onto the track and just go for it. In a more mellowed down event is the kids motorcross bike race around the track.
The selection of food at the fair never fails to amaze me. Personally I always enjoy the gyros. However it is always interesting to see what can be deep fried who it eating it.
This years fair will go from July 13-Aug 5
