Great Places to Get a Cup of Coffee or Tea
Pacific Whey-7962 E. Coast Highway Crystal Cove Promenade
Without a doubt this is one of my favourite places to go. The views of the ocean cannot be beaten. The food here is quite tasty. Everything is made from scratch. They have four locations in Orange County.
Alta Coffee 506 31 st Street Newport Beach
Located on the Balboa Pennisula, this is a fun place to come for breakfast or enjoy a cup of coffee in the evening with live music.
Starbucks- 2801 E. Coast Highway Corona del Mar
This is the place to see and be seen. No matter what day of the week it is there is always a gathering of people sitting outside reading the newspaper and enjoying their morning brew. On cold winter night-not that there are many of these in Southern California, grab a book and enjoy a fireside seat.
Pain du Monde 3636 E. Coast Highway Corona del Mar
This seems to be the location for cyclists on a weekend morning after or during a ride. I have yet to see Lance Armstrong here but there is plenty of spandex.
Deidrichs 180 N. Coast Highway Laguna Beach
An Orange County owned business, this coffee shop is across from Main Beach in Laguna Beach. During the day you can get your cup of coffee and enjoy the action on Main Beach. There is always a volleyball game going on. At night time plop down on a couch and enoy the live music.
Seattle's Best 2743 E. Coast Highway Corona del Mar
Right next to Starbuck's here you can grab some breakfast and sit outside on the patio. They serve pretty good bagels here.
The Gypsey Den 2930 Bristol Costa Mesa
Located at the The Lab, this is a great place for coffee and music. It draws an ecletic crowd. The place is good anytime of the day as they serve lunch and dinner. Their desserts are quite tasty. The Gypsey Den has another location in Santa Ana.
Seattle's Best at Border's Bookstore 1890 Newport Blvd. Costa Mesa
Grab a cup of coffee and a book. For those of you who enjoy playing Scrabble, this coffee house hosts Scrabble night.
Pain Du Monde Balboa Island
Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a walk around the island.
French's Champagne Bakery Crystal Court attached to South Coast Plaza
This is a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a croissant.
Speaking of Tea, my favourite is Russian Earl Grey by Lipton's which only seems only seems to be availble in Europe. Does anyone know where to find it in the United States?
