Spirit of Freedom Hangar is open
Did you know the Pima Air & Space Museum is the largest Air & Space Museum in the Western United States? It relies fully on visitors, gift shop sales, variety of memberships, donations and grants.
Last weekend we made it to the museum and had a great time. Both my husband and I have work histories in aviation so we have always enjoyed visiting. The kids had a blast in their kid's area and were fascinated with the engines on display. I'm looking forward to them being old enough to attend the Summer Space Camp.
The Spirit of Freedom Hangar had its Grand Opening June 6th and it's beautiful. The hanger offers 35,000 square feet of modern exhibition space. The gift store is new as well and is much more spacious that it used to be.
My only recommendations are if you visit during the summer months go first thing in the morning and bring water. Admiring the aircraft that are on display outside can get quite hot.
