Back Alley Film Festival- Bison Witches Bar & Deli
This Memorial Day weekend should you be looking for some entertainment to go with your nice cold beer, you could do no better than to visit the Ninth Annual Back Alley Film Festival. Beginning Saturday night at 8:00 PM, live music starts at 7, the festival organizers will be showing 20 independent films from around the world along with shorts by many local Tucson filmmakers. Admittance to the festival is free (donations are greatly appreciated), though if you would prefer actual seating it can be rented from the festival organizers.
The Film Festival will be located in the lot behind Bison Witches Bar & Deli on 4th Street. Only a few small blocks from the University of Arizona campus, 4th street is the hub of downtown life in Tucson, often playing host to street fairs and live music, the shops that make up this district are whimsical mix of delicious food at reasonable prices for the starving college students, galleries of local artists, trendy thrift stores, and tasty brew pubs. Of the last, Bison Witches is surely in the top tier due to it's friendly bar staff, colossal sandwiches, and fun atmosphere. Every day provides a different drink special and there is normally a waiting list for a booth. For those visiting Tucson for the long weekend, this event would be the perfect chance to be exposed to some of our up-and-coming artists, lively nightlife, and friendly hospitality.
