Arizona HOG Rally --- Downtown --- Weekend of May 5th
What a time for a first post. Well, maybe it will be useful to anyone wondering about all the noise...
This weekend is Tucson's first year hosting the Arizona H.O.G. Rally. The Harley Owners Group used to hold this event upstate but, for whatever reasons, Tucson got our hands on it. Being a Harley rider myself (and living half a mile from downtown --- the heart of this rally), I've already started to notice more bikes on the roads. Personally, I am not a big rally guy, but I will definitely be heading downtown to check out some of the custom bikes brought in from out of town. If you really want to stay busy without talking, just ask a HOG owner about his bike.
The weekend's official events include shows, BBQs, and a group ride that was to be lead by our mayor, Bob Walkup. Unfortunately, he had some surgery this week and is a likely no show for the ride. For those not taking part in the rally, it's still enjoyable to head down and see all the different customs. And this being the rally's first year in Tucson, you should expect local businesses to be rolling out the red carpet so try to grab a slice of their hospitality for yourself.
