Uptown Highway 89A Construction
All that work being down on uptown (you couldn't possibly have missed it over about the past two years) is near completion. By the end of the week, it should be 99% completed with only some minor touch-ups needed. The only items remaining are the fog seal and the striping, both of which require the highway to be shut down completely to proceed. It has been suggested that this occur over-night when traffic is minimal. However, outside temperatures must be at least 50 degrees for this phase. This portion of the project was originally scheduled for September of 2006, but construction delays have pushed it back, and now winter weather must be dealt with. When this final phase will be completed is still up in the air.
