Have you ever sat around watching golf, clicking through the channels with your remote like a listless robot? Yummy, that funny cooking show, oh look- the Simpsons, Survivor man, Wheel of Fortune, Cheers... After a while, your eyes go weary, your head sinks into the couch pillow and you wake up in a pool of drool with a cat kneading your belly.
HELLO! Time to wake up. It's Springtime in ...

The longest running culinary festival in the southwest is running amok again in Scottdale, from April 10-15 (http://www.scottsdaleculinaryfestival.org/). The tasty titilations tendered by top chefs around the world, draw thousands of visitors each year and I'm sure this year is no exception.
Enjoy cooking demonstrations from some of the Valley's and Nation's top chefs, sample food from Arizona's best restaurants, and wines from over 100 wineries ...

Is Jesus your personal savior? Let me tell you friend, he wants to get to know you. If you died tomorrow, do you know where you'd go?
Me? Probably hell after that terrible imitation of a fire and brimestone preacher, but I did it my way. Not that it makes me feel any better or that the flames of eternal damnation will be any less hot.
But if you want to see something hot, check ...

Spring Training Baseball in the Cactus League is in full stride. With spring break comes many days of finding things to do and kids home from school. I have noticed the attendance at these spring break hideouts increasing by the basbeall fan every game. I had the chance to go out to a few games and see all the stadiums in the phoenix area. All the stadiums in Phoenix are within ...

The Downtown Phoenix Hyatt provided a stay I won't soon forget. The way I judge a hotel is by what I feel as soon as you walk in the main entrance. At this hotel, you feel like a king. I was treated royally when I showed up to find swift valet service with a smile and a concierge waiting to take my bags for me. The front desk service moved things along ...

I was able to walk around downtown Phoenix the other day amidst all the light rail congestion, and came upon the US Airways Center. I was pleased to see a display board surrounded by palm trees telling me about all the upcoming events from concerts to sporting events and the sports store located on the north side of the arena. What used to be called America West Arena took on a huge face-lift ...

I found one of the best hidden hotels for easy access to nearly anywhere in the Pheonix/Tempe/Scottsdale area. It is located right by Papago Park and blocks from the Oakland Athletics Spring Training facility.
The Motel 6 prices range from $47.69 - $67.99/night. I have stayed there and it has better than average rooms, with a swimming pool. The great thing is that it is close to Tempe's Mill Avenue, Old Scottsdale and only six miles from downtown Phoenix.

When the Chandler Ostrich Festival moved to Tumbleweed Park from downtown Chandler, many regular attendees were put off. Add in a year without birds, due to the avian flu, and the signature event has faced more than its share of challenges in recent years. I dropped in early and if the set up is anything to go by, when the gates open at 4 p.m. today the Chandler Ostrich Festival ...

It's time once again for the annual Chandler Ostrich Festival. Unlease the ostriches and let them race!

This is a festival for all ages, they've got something for everyone - ostrich races, camel races, zebra races, rides, crafts, greasy deep-fried delights, kettle corn, Indian fry bread, ostrich ...

After taking a pro shop job for the Cactus League's Oakland Athletics, I thought I would pass along important information about commemorative jerseys, t-shirts and hats...
They only order a limited quantity and when they are gone, they're GONE!
