Seven More Lucky Cities Getting Direct Air Service to Mesa



Direct, non-stop service between Williams Gateway (Phoenix-Mesa) Airport and seven additional cities has recently been announced by Allegiant Airways. These new routes bring the total number of routes announced in August to 11, meaning only 2 more routes have yet to be revealed before the September 16 deadline set by Allegiant.

The seven new routes include:

  • Cedar Rapids, Iowa
  • Sioux Falls, South Dakota
  • Stockton, California
  • Santa Maria, California
  • Peoria, Illinois
  • Fargo-Moorehead, North Dakota
  • Fort Wayne, Indiana

"We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Eastern Iowa community, " Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr. president and CEO of Allegiant Air explained in a written statement. "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled service between Cedar Rapids and Arizona."

Service between Cedar Rapid's Eastern Iowa Airport and Williams Gateway Airport (WGA) will begin October 25. Introductory fares as low as $89 one-way. Flights will depart WGA at 8:15 a.m., arriving in Cedar Rapids at 1:05 p.m. then departing Eastern Iowa airport at 1:40 p.m and arriving in Mesa at 2;45 p.m on Thursdays and Sundays.

Allegiant will also be offering the only direct, nonstop service between Sioux Falls and Mesa beginning on October 25. Flights will depart Mesa at 3:25 p.m., arriving at Sioux Falls Regional Airport at 8 p.m then departing Sioux Falls at 8:35 p.m. returning to WGA at 9:25 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays. Introductory fares as low as $99 each way are available.

"We are excited Allegiant chose to serve Sioux Falls," said Lynn Kusy, executive director of Williams Gateway Airport Authority (WGAA). "Sioux Falls is surprisingly ranked as one of the top golfing communities in the U.S. With that, we are greatly anticipating a large number of tourists who want to experience all the amazing golf courses that Arizona has to offer."

Two new routes link Mesa with California's San Joaquin Valley and the Central Coast. Travelers on both routes will enjoy introductory fares as low as $59 each way. Beginning October 26, flights will depart WGA at 7:40 a.m., arriving in Stockton, which is 60 miles east of the San Francisco Bay area and 45 miles south of Sacramento, at 8:30 a.m. then departing Stockton Metropolitan Airport at 9:05 a.m., arriving in Mesa at 11:55 a.m on Mondays and Fridays. Service to Santa Maria will also be offered on Mondays and Fridays with flights departing Mesa at 12:35 p.m. and arriving at Santa Maria Public Airport at 1:10 p.m. then departing Santa Maria at 1:45 p.m and arriving at WGA at 4:15 p.m.

With introductory fares as low as $89 each way, Allegiant will begin offering service between Mesa and Peoria, Illinois, on October 27. Flights will depart WGA at 7:40 a.m, arriving in Peoria at 12:45 p.m and depart Greater Peoria Regional Airport at 1:20 p.m., arriving in Mesa at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

"The Municipal Airport Authority of the City of Fargo, North Dakota is delighted that Allegiant selected Fargo-Moorehead as one of the communities to recieve nonstop service to Phoenix-Mesa," Shawn A. Dobberstein, A.A.E., Executive Director of Hector International Airport said in a written statement. "Our community and surrounding region have been seeking nonstop service to Phoenix-Mesa for the past few years. The Phoenix-Mesa market is consistently ranked as one of our top five O & D markets."

When service between Mesa and Fargo begins on November 15, introductory fares will be as low as $99 each way. Flights will depart Mesa at 7:15 a.m., arriving at Hector International Airport at 11:05 a.m. then departing Fargo at 11:40 a.m, arriving at WGA at 1:50 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays.

Travelers heading to Fort Wayne will depart WGA at 7 a.m, arriving at their destination at 12:25 p.m. The return flights will depart Fort Wayne International Airport at 1 p.m and returning to Mesa at 2:50 p.m. Introductory fares on the twice weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) begin as low as $79 each way. Direct, nonstop service begins on November 21.
