It's time again for Alyeska Resort's (in Girdwood, Alaska, 60 minutes South of Downtown Anchorage) annual Spring Carnival and Slush Cup. This event has been going on for years and is always a highlight.
The Slush Cup starts at 4:00 PM on Saturday. Honestly, who WOULDN'T want to go watch skiers and boarders zoom down the mountain, in clever costumes, gaining as much speed as possible so that they can ...

I am in the process of booking a high end flight-seeing tour for an upscale client. It's been a few years since I've been on one of these tours, so I've had to do a bit of research. There are some incredible new options out there for those of you who might want to do something amazing while visiting Alaska.
If you are on a cruise, there are a lot of ...

I've been so busy living my "Big. Wild. Life." that I've had little time to write about it. However, so much fun stuff is going on that I had to jump on line to let you all know about it. The biggest news is that "Fur Rondy" otherwise known as Fur Rendez-Vous officially kicked off this weekend. The Rondy is the largest winter carnival in North America. It started way ...

Kenai Fjords Tours is a "must do" on your Alaska summer tour list. It is, arguably, the best tour in the whole state of Alaska. It's hard to measure this, of course, because there are so many amazing things to do up here! But, dollar for dollar and hour for hour, (and jam-pack in a whole lot of wilderness, wildlife, and accessibility to boot), it just can't be beat.
Just a ...

They have completed the multi-year project of rebuilding their marine mammal habitat! There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony this Saturday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There will be story time and a sketchin' safari in the greenhouse behind the coffee shop from 12:30 PM and ...

Anchorage's first wood framed house was built in 1915. It is now a quaint museum called, "The Oscar Anderson House." Oscar Anderson was the "18th white man to step foot in Anchorage." It is a special treat to see it this weekend (and next weekend), between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM, as the home is returned to its original Swedish Christmas Splendor. The cost is a minimal $1 - $3 ...

Chilkoot Charlie's, AKA "Koots" is where the music, dance, and night life is for those who need no (or little) sleep. They "cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you." They grew up from a sleepy little bar in the early 70's to the wild packed crazy spot that it is today. They now have 3 dance floors, 3 stages and 11 bars. The bar is maze like as ...
