Fishing and Bird Watching
I like free events... who doesn't, however $2 is almost free... especially when it comes to a Fishing Derby. Saturday, July 11 from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM you can bring your kiddo's down to Taku Lake for a Kids' Fishing Derby. There are clinics and contests. You need your own pole for this one. Children can register for the derby for the afore mentioned price of $2. Adults would need a fishing license if they plan to fish... BUT
FREE! If free sounds even better that $2, then you'll need to get up a little earlier. Only running from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM, there is a Potter Marsh Bird Wlk out on the boardwalk. Fish an game is hosting and they throw a nice party. There will be guide books and binoculars available to use... There should also be real live people who can answer questions. The new boardwalk, completed last year, makes this space twice as nice.
