Anchorage Museum Reopens
Ohhh... FINALLY! The museum hasn't been closed for very long... just 2 months, but it feels like forever! And now when it opens again this weekend, with a big bang, it will be bigger and better than before. Well, I hope so at least.
I'm not crazy about the outside of the addition. The shiney, flashy, glass and metal clashes with the old simple brick that was built in the 80's. But with 80,000 additional square feet, I expect that the museums permanent exhibits will be more accessible.
I, for one, am excited about the new visiting exhibit entitled "Gold." How fitting for Alaska. I would write more, but don't want to dally! Today (Saturday, May 30) it is FREE to visit. Members (like myself) can get in this morning and beat the crowds. Everyone is welcome to visit starting at 12:00 noon!
