Anchorage New Year's

If you have not yet decided what to do for New Year's Eve in Anchorage, you still have plenty of options. The most obvious and available choice is to join in the Fire & Ice Celebration in Town Square, which is located between 5th and 6th Avenues on E Street.

The kid fun starts at 4:00 PM with Ice Skating and the Anchortown Circus (don't ask me what that is...), at 6:00 PM the entertainment continues with silk acrobats, fire jugglers, a parade, music all set amid the crystal ice carvings being completed during the event for a competition that has been going on for a few days.

Finish the evening off with a bang with the fireworks display starting at 8:00 PM. They shoot the fireworks off from the top of the Egan Center across the street. Expect it to be loud and directly overhead for a dramatic end to the old year and welcome in the new.

If you plan to continue on after that, check out Anchorage New Year Events here to peruse the options.

Happy New Year!
