Cardboard Sled Derby

The Kincaid Cardboard Sled Derby is on Saturday, December 20. For the bargain rate of $5, you will get your money's worth of kicks and giggles as you build and race your creation against the crowd. Sleds must be built of Cardboard using duct tape (recommended) or white glue (who are they kidding?). Bring a completed sled or show up early (10:00 AM) to build one. The races start at 1:00 PM. The judges (yep... judges) will be looking for "speed, distance, and creativity." The races are broken out by age range 8 - 12, 13 - 17, and 18 and older. There are also family and corporate catagories. This is a goof and super fun. I hope you can make it.

Kincaid Park is located at 9401 West Raspberry Road. Take Minnesota South from Downtown to the Raspberry exit just past the Airport. Turn right onto Raspberry (West) and follow the road to the end. There is a Chalet there by the final parking area. The sledding hill is there. Hot chocolate is available (by machine) as are indoor restrooms and plenty of indoor space for warming up between races. Bring snowshoes or Nordic skis to make a full day of it. There are miles of delicious wilderness trails here for winter fun!
