Alyeska Resort Set for Winter

The Alyeska Resort is ready for skiers and snowboarders! The mountain will open on November 26, making a good holiday a great one. What else would you rather do while your turkey is cooking? Throw a couple of strips of bacon across the top of the bird so that it can baste itself while you get in a few turns!

Alyeska has more snow than Anchorage right now. the base and mid-mountain have 14-inches nad 30-inches, but they have added man made snow to the mix to give a great base. The top of the mountain has gotten 50-inches of snow this year, and more snow is supposed to be coming this weekend. Hmmmm... The high today will be around 14 (F) degrees, so they will be cranking out the manmade stuff unless nature lends a hand.

If you are a season passholder, there is a party and bonfire this Saturday (the 22nd). The Sitzmark Bar and Grill will be firing up for the season. There will be live music on Friday's and Saturday's starting tonight.

Now, if all of this one & two stick mountain play sounds good, but not the cooking part, you can leave the turkey to the professionals. The Alyeska Resort will throw your Thanksgiving dinner for you at the Pond (casual) or the Seven Glaciers (formal, but make reservations!) I love the Seven Glaciers and recommend it highly for a special holiday event!

More to look forward to at Alyeska:

Tubing Park

Nordic Skiing in Moose Meadows

Heli-skiing and cat skiing with Chugach Powder Guides (They traditionally start in January)

And MUCH more!
