Alaska! Free Lunch at the Port
Who say's there's no such thing as a free lunch? Here in Anchorage, through August 24, the Port of Anchorage is conducting free tours, every half an hour, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Port is undergoing a huge expansion project. It is a well used year-round port that brings in about 5 million tons of goods through Anchorage each year. There is a one hour bus tour that includes the expansion project, a view of the loading and unloading of the ship, AND free hot dogs… go to town folks! The tours start at the Alaska Railroad Corporate offices at 327 W. Ship Creek Avenue (the red brick building on Ship Creek Avenue, not the white one on 1st Avenue.)
