Mead and Gear - TODAY!
If you are looking for something to do in Anchorage tonight, I've got just the thing. How about the "Ring of Fire Mead Tasting?" It's at 6:00 PM at Café Amsterdam (530 East Benson Blvd.). There is no cover charge, but there is a cost for tasting the goods and dinner too, of course. Mead is a honey-wine. This event will showcase the goods from the "first Alaskan Meadery." If I can come up with a sitter, I'll be there for sure!
If you happen to be in Anchorage and you are a outdoor gear-head with an eye for a bargain, there is also a gear swap going on right now, until about 1:00 PM at the University of Alaska, Anchorage Student Union (3211 Providence Drive). I just caught that one in the paper and I am grabbing my keys and out the door!
