Banff Mountain Film Fest in AK.
I just bought my tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival this evening (7:00 PM) at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. I am so excited because it has been 7 years since I last attended this festival. Now that my children are a bit older (6 years and 4 years), I am hoping that they will love it too. (My oldest son went to the festival with "dad" last year). I love watching the crazy stuff that these filmmakers come up with. I hate to generalize, but the Italians always seemed to come up with the most insane of ideas. Films I have seen in the past include made up mountain sports that look like they HURT. There are also occasional spoofs like "Extreme Blueberry Picking" (that must have been about 11 or 12 years ago). Tickets here in Anchorage are $10 if you buy on-line or $15 at the door ($5 and $10 for children). There is a second showing tomorrow (Saturday) night. www.uaatix.com
