I've been so busy living my "Big. Wild. Life." that I've had little time to write about it. However, so much fun stuff is going on that I had to jump on line to let you all know about it. The biggest news is that "Fur Rondy" otherwise known as Fur Rendez-Vous officially kicked off this weekend. The Rondy is the largest winter carnival in North America. It started way ...

We have some great event planners up here, but one of my favorites is Toni Walker at Logistics, LLC. She puts on some amazing incentives. I've worked with her when I worked at a destination resort and for her when she has hired my guide company to provide quality narration for a group. She is an energy plus gal who rides the changing waves of her clients like a professional ...

I am a card carrying dog lover. So, am I allowed to think that dog mushing is okay? Not according to one reader. If you would like to see the original article and the comments it provoked, go to Dog Sledding in Alaska.

It's cold, it's fast and it's here! The mechanical version of the Iditarod begins on Big Lake, Alaska, this Sunday, February 10. That is over 2000 miles of stark white wilderness at the coldest time of the year. ...

The children of the school have put together most of the events with their parents and the money raised will go toward programs for the school. There is a ...

Yes, it is below zero again here in Anchorage. But, with the cold comes a crystal clear sky that goes on for hundreds of miles. Mount McKinley, North America's tallest peak is 140 miles North of Anchorage. It is often obscured in clouds as it is so much taller than the surrounding mountains that it creates its own weather systems. But on day's like today, Mount McKinley and Mount Foraker ...

It was -20 (F) when I woke up this morning. My first instinct was to blow off elementary school for my oldest and hunker down in my cozy little house. But we live in Alaska, so you can't let snow, cold, or mosquitoes (in summer) stop you from getting through your days or you'd never do anything. After completing our school drop off, I decided to take my preschooler out ...
