Suzi's Woollies in Anchorage
Suzi's Woollies is in the heart of downtown Anchorage at 420 G Street. This is a lovely little Celtic treasure trove with delightfully warm sweaters, caps, and wraps. They are also host to a toe tapping Celtic jam session at 6:00 PM on the First Friday of every month (tied into the First Friday Gallery Walk). The shop has snacks and wooden stools so that you can sit, munch, and get warm in a jovial atmosphere before heading out to the next gallery on your list. The music there is not limited to the First Friday event. Local Celtic musicians are drawn to the place. They have often had "unscheduled" musicians playing when I have stopped by. My children love going there and so do I. Their Celtic jewelry is lovely too. All of their goods are from England, Scotland, Ireland, or Wales.
