Christmas Tree Recycling
Yes, believe it or not, we do recycle up here in Alaska. It's not always easy. We don't have curbside pick up like they do in some cities around the United States. But we have a place to bring our recyclable items, even Christmas trees! All of the Carrs Stores in Anchorage, Eagle River and Palmer have drop off areas. A local Boy Scout troop will even come to your house and pick your tree up for you (for a small fee). So, call the scouts or drop off your tree at a Carrs (before January 15) and they will turn it into wood chips (which are then shared among local non-profits who want them)!
