Alpenglow Ski Area - Ski for Free
If you would like to ski for free in Anchorage, then try your hand at volunteering. Alpenglow Ski Area is located at mile 7 on Arctic Valley Road on the North side of Anchorage. The ski area is run by volunteers who earn lift tickets in exchange for time worked. Some training is required. Volunteer positions include lift operators and ticket booth sales. Currently listed on their website is an "at home" position of "Volunteer Coordinator" (scheduling the other volunteers), part time mountain operations people are needed too, including a "Lodge Manager" (on site on weekends) and a "Ski Club General Manager" (some work from home, some on site). Pay is a possibility for some of these positions based on your experience.
