AK: Run for Fun in the Snow or the Sun!
If you would like to go for a run while you are in town, meet up with the local Anchorage Running Club on Wednesday nights. The meet at the Skinny Raven (the BEST place to get fitted for a running shoe anywhere) at 800 H Street (corner of 8th and H) in downtown Anchorage. They meet at 6:00 PM and then head down to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail where they run together (some people walk as well, so you don't have to be a runner to join in the fun). It is free! If you haven't run in the snow (or ice) before, get to the store a few minutes early to buy a pair of ice grippers, which can be worn over your shoes. They are lifesavers!
