The Snow Goose Restaurant
The Snow Goose is a brewery (Sleeping Lady Brewing Company), a pub, a restaurant, a theatre, and a local meeting space all in one. It is located on the corner of 3rd and G streets, within easy walking distance to the downtown hotels and shops. Locally owned, the Snow Goose knows what "Anchorage Flavor" is all about. Beautiful Alaskan quilts hang on the walls. The open deck is the place to be in the summer time and looks over the incredible Cook Inlet and, on a clear day, offers views of some of our most recognizable mountains including Mount McKinley and Mount Susitna (also known as "The Sleeping Lady"). I have attended meetings in their main banquet room, which also has a stage on which I have seen a great show. They also have live music on Friday's and Saturdays and "open mike" on Thursday nights. For Anchorage, their prices are downright reasonable. They even made a gift card donation to my son's school auction, showing that they support locals and give back to the community. I just can't think of any reason NOT to love the Snow Goose.
