Alaskan Gold Prospectors, New Calendar Items
I thought I was finished with the gold mining subject for now, but a few items caught my eye in the community datebook of the Anchorage Daily News for the evening of Tuesday, November 13, 2007.
The first item was a meeting for The Alaskan Prospectors Society. They have a free gathering from 7:45 PM to 9:30 PM featuring a presentation titled "Black and White Images of the Turnagain Arm." The meeting will be held in the First Methodist Church at 725 West 9th Street. I'm intrigued... I wish I could go, just to see who else shows up.
The second was a Large Mine Permitting Workshop held by the state at the Anchorage Hilton from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM. It's an opportunity to learn about mine permitting and to "ask questions of state and federal agency representatives." They have a website if YOU want more information, www.dnr.state.ak.us/mlw/mining/largemine/
These two conflicting meetings left me wondering who will be skipping one meeting to attend the other. Hmmm...
