Anchorage Holiday Bazaars

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas," at least it is in the churches, school and convention spaces around Anchorage. Yes, the Holiday Bazaar season is upon us. In fact, there are about 10 different events in Anchorage this weekend alone. There are a few that I go to every year and one of my favorites is coming up this weekend from 10:00AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 3rd. It is the 30th Annual "Christmas Towne Bazaar (CTB)."

Held by the Rabbit Creek Community Association, the CTB is a juried bazaar. That means that vendors/crafters have to go in before the event to show what they have made to assure quality AND to limit the number of competitors for any given type of product. They only allow X number of potters, X number of food booths and so on. The great thing about that is that there is a wide selection of items instead of 20 booths in a row with all the same type of thing.

They moved to a new larger venue last year (to South Anchorage High School) to give them more wiggle room (and parking). For more information about The Christmas Towne Bazaar, check out their website at http://www.rabbitcreek.org/

For a complete listing of ALL of the holiday bazaars this year, here is a link to the Anchorage Daily News 2007 list of Anchorage Holiday Bazaars http://www.adn.com/life/story/9335553p-9250486c.html

Happy holiday shopping!
