Sungei Buloh Anniversary Walk, December 09

It is the 14th anniversary of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve (SBWR), the first wetlands reserve in Singapore, and this is the 11th year that a walk through the reserve is being held to commemorate its opening on December 03 of 1993.

Join volunteers who will guide the public through the reserve, introducing the different flora, fauna, animal life and ecosystems present in this tranquil spot of Singapore.

It will be a rising tide, and there may be possibility for rain, so do dress for that. A bulk of the walk will take place along a boardwalk, so both children and adults will find it enjoyable.

Enjoy the relaxing pace as you discover the various life forms – from fishes to mudskippers and tree-climbing crabs - that are teeming in the wetland. Be regaled by stories of World War II from your guides - Oi Yee, Airani, Anand, Ya Wen, Grace, E-Hong and Sivasothi (a.k.a. Otterman) - as you take in the view of the region and Johor.

If you are in luck, you may even view various species of migratory birds from the north, a resident family of otters, a crocodile and a komodo dragon.
