Recently, I had lunch at the Sheraton Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan

Just 17 kilometers (approx. 10.5 miles) from Quaid-e-Azam International Airport, they are at the center of the business district of Karachi. The restaurant is near the top where you can see out over the city. The luncheon has a nice buffet of eastern and western food. Lamb and shrimp roasted in seasoned rice are my favorites. And French pastries ...... ah ... my delight.
Safe and secure. A place where local people hold their weddings by the large pool and visit the lobby restaurant for coffee and pastries late at night.
The reputation of Sheraton Hotels is secure in Karachi. The President, Governor and city officials frequent it throughout the year.
Celebrities? Wow, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Aamir Khan, myself and others have visited Sheraton from time to time as they visit this major international port city.
The international community kind of hangs out there at night after a long work day. I especially like to go late at night when most things have closed down and have a coffee and French Pastry.
If you're on vacation, it is in the heart of the city. Near the financial district.
The arts community where NAPA --- Pakistan's first National Academy of Performing Arts is near by.
And if you want to take a ride to the largest MacDonald's in the world on the beach, you can catch a cab and soon you'll be on the famous strip called Seaview.
Karachi is a city that is rapidly becoming modern. Yet it has the local music, food and wonderful culture surrounding it.
