This year's Good Friday services hosted by Calvary Church of Kuala Lumpur will be held at 4 locations in the Klang Valley. It will be held at 8pm on April 6, 2007 at the following Calvary churches.

1) Damansara Heights
2) Cheras
3) Ampang
4) Damansara Perdana
This is the first time that the church is having the services in all four locations instead of one venue. The reason is because Friday is a working day and the traffic can be quite heavy especially after working hour. Hence, it is more convenient for church members and their friends to go to the church near their place of stay.

Programme includes music and drama that potray the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. For children 4-13 years old, there will be a special lively kids programme to cater for them simultaneously.

On April 8, 2007 an Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30am at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Choir and music will be the items on this day. The 250 members comprising of musicians, choir, drama and dance performers will present the songs followed by the Easter message by the senior pastor of the church. Last year 5000 came for the sunrise service and the same number or higher is expected to turn out for this event.

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building in the city of Kuala Lumpur is located in front of Merdeka Square or Independence Square. The Royal Selangor Club is in the vicinity as well. This heritage building of Malaysia started its construction in 1894 and was completed in 1897. It has a Moorish architecture in design and is one of the historical landmark in Kuala Lumpur. The building is named after the Sultan of Selangor who reigned the state from 1857 to 1898.

The building has a shiny cooper dome and a 41.2 metres high clock tower. It was constructed of red brick and are exposed with white plaster lined arches and striped which have became known as blood and bandages style. Many arches such as ogee arch, horse shoe arch, pointed arch and multifoil arch were used to build the structure. There are 3 towers altogether and all have onion shaped domes with copper coverings.

This building had been the focal point of many historical events. The declaration of the independence of Malaysia was done in front of this building at Merdeka Square on August 31, 1957 where the Union Jack Flag was lowered and replaced with the national flag of Malaysia.

It now houses the commercial Division of the High Court of Malaya as well as a handicraft centre.

Every year, Malaysian will congregate here to usher in the New Year.

Learn how to make Chinese cookies and watch the calligraphy master shows his artistic skills.

Just 20-30 minutes away from the city center, 1 Utama Shopping Center has come out with its own Chinese New Year celebration. It is featuring a Chinese Garden with the theme "Blossoming Ties". This garden reminds one of the old days garden setting in China. The garden features plants, water, stones and its red coloured architecture.

If you have not heard of "YEE SANG", do order a dish when you are having your Chinese meal. It is only available during this time of the year when Chinese New Year is around the corner. This dish is a combination of vegetables such as carrot, sweet sauce, lime, marinated raw fish and crispy biscuits. These will be placed in a plate where all diners will use a pair of chopsticks each and toss them as high as possible before eating. Try it and you will not regret it. If you are not so keen to take the raw fish, you can always ask the shop to exclude it.

Come and join in the Chinese New Year celebration in Malaysia...
