Tourism Malaysia 2007
Year 2007 is a special year for Malaysia as we will be celebrating 50 years of independence on August 31 2007. In conjunction with this golden jubilee celebration, Visit Malaysia 2007 was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on January 6, 2007 to welcome the expected 20.1 million visitors to Malaysia. Fireworks and laser display illuminated the city of Kuala Lumpur after the launch.
Visit Malaysia 2007 is a year long tourism extravaganza with 50 great events that will be celebrated throughout the length and breath of the country. If you have yet to make out your mind on a holiday destination, why not consider Malaysia? The message by our Prime Minister to all visitors are :

EYE ON MALAYSIA
A giant 60m ferris wheel similar to "London Eye" where one will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the modern city of Kuala Lumpur.
FLORA FEST 2007
Various events are being organized from January 20 to February 4 during the flora festival. Selected venues in the country will be decorated with colourful flowers and fauna that are found in the country. 40 countries from around the world will be participating in the flora fest and it is fashioned after the famous Pasadena tournament of Roses parade in California.
There will be a Florathon, a 3km walk "race" in the city on January 20 where the participants will be judged based on their floral costumes.
The other not to be missed event is the Flora Hunt (Treasure hunt) where participants will travel around Klang Valley to hunt for answers to the questions provided. MALAYSIA MEGA SALE CARNIVAL 2007
This year's event will be held from June 16 to Sept 2 where all the shopping complexes will offer discounts to items on sale. A fun time awaiting the entire family in getting value for money goods that you may not get at other times of the year.
