Hanami - Flower Viewing

With the warmer weather here in Tokyo, flower viewing is coming early this year! Japanese people gather at parks to sit under the blossomed trees and drink with their friends. It is a big deal for the Japanese....many of them come prepared with their food, booze, blankets, and nabe pots. Right now, the ume blossoms are blooming, and soon the cherry blossoms will bloom. Popular places include Ueno Park and Yoyogi Park. In Yoyogi, DJs even set up at night, and you can enjoy yozakura (night flower viewing). Not to be missed and one of the highlights of Japanese events in Japan!
