Powai Lake: A Popular Picnic Spot



In 1890, British built Powai Lake in northern suburb of the city to increase water supply. This artificial lake measuring 2 square kilometer is a popular picnic spot of the city. Kanjur Marg is the nearest railway station.

today we were lucky to see Storks at powai lake- most likely open billed. we've been living in powai for 8 years and this is the first time to our knowledge that we've seen storks (20 at least). it is worth a visit for bird watchers. would appreciate more on this from experts.
