Wednesday night jam session in Berlin Mitte
Last Wednesday some friends and I wandered into the b-flat club at Rosenthaler Straße 13 (near Hackescher Markt and Weinmeisterstr. S/U-Bahn stations) to find a truly great jazz jam session going. Sometimes jam sessions can be interesting but (let's be honest!) quite hard to listen to if the music isn't quite working. That certainly wasn't a problem here, however. The music covered a range of styles and instruments over the night, the atmosphere was lively and the high ceiling of the club meant that cigarette smoke was no problem - a welcome change if you've been feeling yourself turn into smoked salmon in some other Berlin venues.
The club also has concerts almost every night. Judging by the quality of the jamming, these are probably worth a look too!
