OM - Nepalese/Indian Highlands Restaurant -Top Berlin Restaurant
OM. Ommm. It's a fun word and an exotic restaurant experience that you shouldn't miss.
OM Restaurant/Cafe´& Bar serves up generous helpings of Nepalese and Indian Highland cuisine in a beautifully decorated environment. The waitstaff is fun & friendly, which is an oddity in Berlin. OM is consistently rated as one of Berlin's best restaurants/cafe´s, yet it is still somewhat of a secret simply because it isn't located in a major shopping district. The smells wafting out of the restaurant are what initially lures people through its prayer flagged doors; but the food (vegetarian & non-vegetarian), service and affordable prices are what keeps them coming back.
People who are not fans of Indian cuisine can rest assured that they too will find something to delight their pallet. There is an activity table with games and coloring supplies for both adults and kids. Most of the staff speak English, and (woo-hoo!) there is a non-smoking section!
The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 to midnight. From 11:30 to 4:30pm there is a day menu available, but only Mondays through Fridays. The lunch time rush is at 12:30 and the dinner rush starts at 5:00pm.
The restaurant is located conventiently near S-bahnhof Bellevue on Kirchstrasse 16 in Berlin's beautiful Spreebogen district (check out the Spreebogen Hotel if you're looking for somewhere nice to stay).
If you're at OM for lunch be sure to take a stroll afterwards down Kirchstrasse where you will find some nice shops, or else walk along Berlin's Spreebogen. Keep in mind that this restaurant is within walking distance of Schloss Bellevue -Berlin's Presidential White House, so you may want to combine the two.
